Yesterday's smile, real quick - all had to do with paper. Going through paper sample sand deciding what to do for a project (yes, HUGE smile!) was great! It might seem odd, but I absolutely love making mock-ups and getting paper dummies - it makes the final product seem so close! Also, a hilarious message left in my car door handle made the list.
Today. Today's smiles are easiest listed:
- first visit to the farmers market
- trying on bridesmaid dresses for the first time
- soy lattes
- jelly shoes (who knew steve madden would make such a thing!?)
- toes in the grass
- first grill-out of the season! local beef burgers, traverse city cherry brats, oreos, watermellon, some whitsun ale, and wonderful people
- "How I Met Your Mother" marathon
- Draining a new phone card in one use
An overall wonderful day!

Gray doesn't have to mean gloomy...
It may be chilly and rainy outside, but I like to think of these days as my official Get Stuff Done days. I love the sunshine, and a nice warm walk would have been lovely, but the cool air and soggy streets make me want to curl up in front of my computer for the entire day.
Hot tea at hand, chicken soup for lunch, wrapped up in a soft sweater, checking things off of my To-Do list all day long. Cozy and accomplishing!
Today's smile will have to go out to Skywalk Deli for their chicken noodle soup!

Day 1 (but not really)
After a few weeks of encouragement from coworkers, I've decided to go ahead and do my Smile of the Day moments as a blog instead of just facebook statuses. I'm figuring that no matter how horrible a day is, there is at least one thing you can think of that was good. Sometimes when it's hard to think of those moments, even just looking back at past Smiles can make me smile. So here it is - the beginning of a collection of happy thoughts!
Today's Smile goes out to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong singing Dream a Little Dream of Me. It's simply lovely! Go make yourself a pandora station based on this song, and no matter how the morning started, this will be sure to be a pleasant way to start unwinding from the workday!
